Historical Ball in Piteå May 30th

14/01/2026

Only a few tickets left! Welcome to a historical ball in the Assembly Hall at Piteå Museum on Saturday, May 30. Piteå is located in the north of Sweden.

The theme of the ball is the 18th century to the early 19th century, and there will be longways and quadrilles to music from that period. The event is alcohol-free.

All participants are asked to dress in historical costume, but how this is done is entirely up to each person. No strict interpretation is required; the important thing is that an effort has been made to create a historical feeling. To make it both easier and more flexible, a time span from the 18th century to the early 19th century has been chosen. This offers many styles to choose from. It is also perfectly fine for anyone who prefers either a feminine or masculine outfit to wear folk costume.

The ball begins at 17:00 with a welcome drink and mingling. An alcohol-free version of a classic spicy 18th-century punch, Biscoff, will be served. There will be light refreshments and a confectionery table, but no seated dinner, so it is recommended to eat something beforehand.

The weekend before the ball there will be dance practice in Piteå. More information about this will be provided later. Videos will also be shared to show how the dances are done.
